My fiance and I are new to Green Bay, so I've only been here once. I like the interior, it's comfortable and looks very nice. The service we had was just great, and the pizza was wonderful! I'm so glad I'm in a town where there's good pizza available again. I think we had the Sammy's Special and some cheesy garlic bread. Yum. And you can get your beer in a frosted mug if you like (I did like) and I believe they do have Spotted Cow. I look forward to going here again after the movies to talk over the flick we just saw. Makes for a perfect date night.

Pizza was so-so... dude at the table next to me was eating some gnocchi that looked awesome though - I'll be heading back to try that for sure

My family's favorite pizza in Green Bay. We love their taco pizza. It's not a very fancy restaurant, but it is great for a casual date and is kid friendly. The service isn't always the best, but the food makes up for it.

Good for large groups. Thin crust with great toppings like salami. Try the 3 cheese bianca with garlic butter. Delicious!

Wow, just absolutely loved their Pizza. We had the Grande Pizza (Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni, Sausage, Garlic, Onion, Fresh Tomatoes, Mushrooms) perfectly thin crust, tons of cheese, sauce was perfect. We also ordered Bruschetta Appetizer, that was just OK and somewhat overpriced, but the pizza more than made up for it. Our waitress was very good as well, we will definitely be going back.

Sammy's has very good thin crust pizza and is kid friendly. It has been our favorite pizza in Green Bay for years and always consistent. It is also a good place for large groups.

Good! I had the combo pizza and it came out sizzling hot. The crust is thin and crispy, just as I like it. The sauce is a little more sweet than I prefer, but it was still good and I know some will really like it! Service was quick and waitress was polite. Would recommend for anyone wanting a good sit down family dinner.

The pizza here is excellent. We order take out more than we dine in but it is always fantastic. I am a fan of thin crust pizza and they do it right with loads of toppings on a paper thin crust. Highly recommend you stop in.

We ordered a cheese and mushroom pizza. The nice waitress asked if we wanted garlic on it. "GARLIC? " I asked her, "is it good"? She just shook her head yes. Great pizza! We asked for ours well done and she said "Crispy? You got it!"

This is the ultimate pizza icon in Green Bay. Family owned and run. They have the best Taco Pizza in town. Just steps away from Lambeau Field or the Resch Center it's a great place to grab a bite before or after the game.

The dining area is nice and the pizza has a decent flavor, albeit too salty. The host was not very good at his job and, likewise, the waitress was not refined and was not very good at her job. For the quality of food and service provided, the prices ought to have been lower. There are better pizzas in Green Bay. Try Aldo's Pizza- it's the best in town.

I never thought I would say this but guess what people, New York does NOT have the best pizza known to mankind, no that fought over title goes to Sammy's in Green Bay, Wisconsin, holy pepperoni is their pizza amazing. This is the proof of true pizza mastery, you want to eat the crusts, you look forward to eating the crusts. Get a pie with sausage on it because I don't know what the pigs are eating in this part of the world but my god they taste good. Sammy's I salut you and your devastatingly good pizza. I will dream of it often, quick question, do you deliver to nyc? Please say yes :)

Went here last Saturday on a packers game weekend. We went around 5:30 and it was pretty empty but absolutely packed when we left- so if it's a busy weekend get here early. We did breadsticks, salad, and pizza. All were good, nothing was spectacular. If you like thin crust pizza, this is a solid choice.

This is my favorite pizza place in town. I have been to Sammys at many of the locations and I have never been disappointed in the pizza or staff! The sausage is to die for.. You get one sausage per each slice of pizza. Very reasonable price for pitchers of beer as well! Definitely recommend to everyone.

Love this place! I always stop when I am in town! The service and pizza are both excellent. I have not had the pasta but if it is anything like the pizza it will be awesome! I usually get the margarita pizza and love it! They have a big variety and the prices are good too! A big sit in dinning area and gets very busy in the evening so come early

Looking for a quick meal, so we decided to order pizza. Called and our order was taken quickly and efficiently from the friendly employee. With-in 20 minutes we had a delicious Hawaiian pizza and an order of bruschetta. Pizza was fresh, saucy and cheesy! Will definitely order again!

As a native New Yorker, I believe that I know pizza, some of the best around is near where I live. However I'm not always in home and travel and was in Green Bay and happened upon Sammy's. They cut the pie into squares, which at first was hard for me to eat, because I fold and eat. When I figured it out, it wasn't bad, next time I will ask that they cut NY style. Good stuff!

DEEE- LICIOUS!! I wish I could make the 4 hour drive from Chicago to get this Pizza again! IF you are looking for a thin, crispy crust come here! We actually described the pizza as "pizza chips" it was sooo crispy/crunchy. I loved it. Now, if that doesn't sound delicious to you, then maybe you won't like it as much as we did!

Sammy's is a delicious treat and should be your first stop for food in Green Bay. I've been there several times on trips to see family in the area, and every visit has been a great experience. Their thin crust pizza is the major selling point, cut into small squares and triangles similar to a lot of Chicago area classics. It has that unescapeable addiction factor like those places do as well. This isn't a pile of excess toppings, gooey cheese, or buffet on a plate. It's a nice crispy wafer of mouth-watering goodness that has just enough consistency to stay together and make your stomach smile. Should you save some leftovers for home, or have that last square? I leave that difficult predicament up to you. Garlic Bread in all its varients (regular, cheese, pesto) is reasonable fair, although nothing special and not terribly big in the portions department. I had their Tomato Basil soup and while it wasn't much more than marinara sauce with melted cheese it was very tasty and worth getting. The cup size was more than enough, I couldn't see splurging on a bowl anytime soon. I haven't tried their pastas, but the menu descriptions speak to my Italian heart and other family members thoroughly enjoyed theirs. The Gnocci, Rigatoni, and various Raviolis all gave me hesitation, but their pizza is such a classic that it's really hard to deviate. Service is warm and polite, very friendly for families, parties, and couples. This, besides the incredible taste, is one of the big bonus points for them compared to most Chicago area places. Those establishments tend to put taste and popularity above all, while Sammy's is far more welcoming. The only small knocks on them would be price ($22-25 for most large Pizzas, $10-15 for dinners), a fairly homogonized selection of pre-made specials, and a simple atmosphere. I've also been to pizza places on par with them, although not many and certainly not in Wisconsin. These are all incredibly minor qualms, so bottom line is that Sammy's is a must visit. Order more than you want, because you will want those leftovers

Wonderful pizza. Cut in squares. Delicious and HOT! Family run business with extremely friendly service. Very near Lambeau Field, home of the Packers.

For a pizza that can't stop bleeding grease, I was surprised they didn't provide any napkins. As for the pizza itself, it was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had. Their sausages are a little on the salty side. Their other ingredients have no saltiness to them at all. Logic would state that salty+not salty = delicious balance. Instead, the pizza keeps those two tastes separate in each and every bite. I couldn't understand why the two flavors wouldn't combine to form a delightful experience but it was very frustrating. The thin crust and sauce are redeeming qualities of the pizza. The crust has that nice crispiness and the sauce is rich and full of flavor. Don't think about eating this pizza cold. When the cheese congeals, it's a little too rubbery to be taken as food. Cold pizza happens to be one of my favorite foods so not being able to enjoy this pizza the day after pushed it down from 2.5 to 2 stars. Personal Recommendation: Maybe try something from the restaurant menu?

Very good. Grande could use more sauce & a bit more pepperoni. Crust needed another minute in the oven.

I have been going to Sammy's since i was a kid. My mother use to be a waitress here and is still good friends with the owner, a very sweet Italian lady! Super amazing, fresh pizza. Garlic bread to die for, and the ravioli is perfect!

Summary: Solid old school thin crust pizza. People complaining about the grease are lame. Yea, it's greasy, but its also es muy delicioso. Crust is as good as it gets. Sausage has nice flavoring to it. They lay the ingredients on thick. Only negative is the price, I think it's on the expensive side. There's other places in green bay that offer great pizzas yet charge substantially less than Sammy's. It's the only thing that prevents me from going here very often.

Don't let the family-friendly sign fool you: This place has seriously good HOMEMADE pasta. All of it, from scratch. Delicious. And very attentive service. In town for the marathon, and wanted a pasta dinner. *Highly* recommended.

I've lived in Green Bay all of my life and don't get the Sammy's hype at all. Sure, it's tasty pizza. It really is. But honestly, it's super greasy and super salty, and that's just when you get a mushroom and cheese pizza. Forget about the meat versions. It's almost worth getting sausage, though, to see the sausage pieces lined up so precisely so that each square gets one and only one piece of sausage on it. I mean, it's good pizza. I just don't get the why everyone acts as though you'll be selling your first born for a large Sammy's combo pie. We go here about once a year and leave feeling satisfied, but still a little perplexed by all the commotion about Sammy's. Maybe you just had to have been eating Sammy's all your life?

This may be the beer talking but the pizza was great. Very cheesy and greasy just what we were looking for. The waiter was super, he literally ran around while taking care of everyone.

If you are looking for pizza in Green Bay, this is the first place you need to stop. This is one of my favorite places in town - my only regret is that I only eat here once or twice a year. My family makes the trek from Indiana to Green Bay for Packer Training Camp every year, for a game every couple of years, and this the first (and sometimes the last) place that we eat while we are in town. The crust is thin & crispy, the sauce is amazing, and the cheese is probably the best I have ever had. Cannot comment on other items on the menu, as we tend to stick to the pizza - too good to order anything else! Service is great too - friendly, efficient, just about all that you could ask for.

The Sammy's Special is just terrific. It's mostly sausage but a smattering of onions and green pepper. It's thin and VERY tasty. I am a pretty good eater and could only wipe out half a "Fiesta" sized by myself. That's their extra-large version. As soon as I posted a picture of my pizza on Facebook the comments started flooding in from the Green Bay crowd. So you know it's good. Why would you ever eat at a chain?!

So, I went to Sammy's 20 or so years ago and I remembered how good it was, so I checked it out Saturday since I was in Green Bay for the day. The ravioli were awesome - tasted like some mozzarella cheese inside. The garlic bread was great. Even the salad which I typically consider rabbit food was great, the dressing reminded me of Grandma's homemade Italian dressing. If you go there and have a salad, think of my grandma the rest of the day, I dare you...she would love you, just as much as I do :)

I am a diehard New York style pizza fan but Sammy's has done a very good job of converting me to the Green Bay style (thin crust cut into squares). Their sauce is extremely flavorful (if a little spicy for some, but I like a little kick in the sauce) and the cheese is spot on with the best I have had. The crust is very good, but just a little different than I am used to, with no real rolled end crust per say more of just the pizza ending in a very small no cheese area. The toppings are very flavorful and fresh with my favorite being their homemade Italian sausage "mini meatballs" on the Sammy's special. The slicing is really the only thing that bothers me. It doesn't really look like pizza cut into 20+ squares but this can be easily remedied by asking them to cut it into the traditional 8 wedges (and honestly has no impact on the taste, just a pet peeve of mine). From sampling the pizza all over Green Bay this is definitely the best one, but by no means the cheapest. $20+ for a family size specialty is the standard but it's worth the price for the quality of food. And oh by the way the DO NOT deliver so either dine in or be prepared to drive to Ashwaubenon to get it.

Ordered for delivery to our hotel in Sturgeon Bay. Delivery was free and fast. Pizza was very good - first time i have had a decent pizza in Wisconsin. Ravioli, manicotti and salad was were good as well. Sauce was homemade.

Been eating pizza at Sammy's since I was a toddler. Simply put, it's the best thin crust pizza I have had. All others I have tried have paled in comparison. Its proximity to Lambeau Field makes it appealing if you're in town for a Packer game. My personal favorite is the Combination.

People in Green Bay think that in order to make a good pizza you need to make it with a pound of salt. Most people in the city claim that this pizza is the best. The oversalting is enough to hurt your mouth. Ingredients are good, especially the sausage, but the salt is way to overwhelming.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
